For those that were just on the podcast with me, here is a post from my other blog at http://willburrus.com on Augmented Reality with an example. Incredibly powerful technology. If you'd like to do something with it, contact me!
Something I have been particularly intrigued with lately is this technology called Augmented Reality.
Essentially, a program can augment the feed from a web cam with virtual objects and allow you to interact with them via gesture. Its kind of hard to explain, but if you look at some examples, such as the Star Trek movie promo at http://joinstarfleetacademy.com/discover, you will see what I mean. After toying with this, of course my brain went into overdrive on how it could be effectively used by a brand. (BTW, I have some great ideas...and I am playing with the toolkit....feel free to call if you would like to chat :-))
Well, I have now seen a GREAT practical example of the use of this technology with USPS of all places. Now, if you are not sure what box size to use for shipping, fire up your browser, point your webcam at your desk, project a virtual box on it, and slide your content into the box!
Props to AKQA for a sweet digital campaign with purpose.

Here is an article that was posteda month or two ago on Reliability Web featuring an application that we built, Apex. It is a complex, but incredibly powerful tool (just the way I like 'em), so its hard for me to explain how it works - but Ian Hedding, Creator and Apex Development Officer, does an awesome job here.
Organizations looking to fully understand their current levels of performance and improvement potential need a different approach, methods that will guide the organization toward sustainable improvement. They must realize that the only path to sustainable change is by focusing on the levers and causes that drive performance: behaviors, practices, and processes, which lead to equipment, production, and people reliability.
Nice job, Ian!

Application Development is where we shine. We take a no frills, discplined approach to software that allows us to build apps of any size - from database driven websites and desktop applications, to transactional e-commerce systems, to business process automation systems, to customized social networks and api mashups. Our manufacturing approach to software development allows us to build highly complex systems in an efficient amount of time, with little to no defects, and a well documented and easy to use codebase. Thought we specialize in database, application, and service layer development in the .NET Framework, we can confidently implement projects on any platform and in any language.
